My Chair

I miss my comfortable lazboy chair. It is on the way to Singapore from SF now.

It is already 1 month since I left the city and came back to my town. I am having my own time. Enjoying every seconds. Appreciate all the grace.

Here I am sitting on my dad`s chair and spending every day working on my translating work for a movie. And I realize that I like knowing the difference of languages very much. English and Japanese are so different. Of course I can`t exactly translate every thing directly. Because of the very different cultures. Now I know both and look myself who I am. And I am comfortable with who I am. When I was immature, I didn`t have much opinion. I didn`t know who I am very much. And where it is. What it is, and how it is. That must be a natural thing for anybody who is still knowing what is going on around them. People are living and growing until they die. Even the guy on the street, He knows more days than me. he knows some things more than me do.

I am sitting down on my dad`s chair. Writing this blog. Gotta think where to go for date with my lovely husband on this weekend. Working for the new music project. Moving forward. Looking forward to see me in the future.

I like my life.

Wishing something

I went to Kyoto with my friend yesterday to be a Maiko(Looks like a Geisha, but that is Maiko).
And explore some places in Kyoto.

Kyoto is the place I visit often since my grandparents lived there and also my father grew up there. We still have a temple where my family go for any Buddhism events.

There is a tons of temples. Very historical place. Looks so different than Tokyo and you will enjoy the real Japanese feeling there.

After I left Japan to live, I am more interested in Japanese culture than when I used to be here. I guess that is a natural thing for people who see it from outside.

Well, after all, we visited a temple where my friend wanted to go. She told me that she wants to go there so bad to wish her life. I told her that I don`t believe in it, so I didn`t go inside and waited outside(Didn`t want to pay for fee too!)

So, went to a temple where is well known by "ENMUSUBI" which is romance God. If you go there, "OJIJOUSAN" will come to your place and help you find a good love or somthing like that.
I actually have been there maybe 5 years ago before I became Christian too!! I remember what I prayed there at that time, but "OJIZOUSAMA" hasn`t got to me yet, haha

Well, so the point of this blog today is that how many people I saw there........ I saw over 100 people are waiting at the line front of the gate to go in. Most of them are 10s to 20 years old!!!! I bet that place is the place where get young people the most spot!
People are looking for love and promises. People don`t want to me by themeselves. Want to married and want to be loved.

I was just surprised that many young people are visiting the temple. People are searching their eternal love and full of love. want to be loved.

I am not gonna say anything anymore today. I just wanted to write this and you to know about this.

Seeing my people!

I met some of my local friends in Nara, my home town.

We stayed at the Izakaya restaurant for 5 hours. Never stop talking.

My husband was surprised how Kansai-jin are loud and rough!
The private room was filled by voices and laughs for 5 hours.

I didn`t have a chance to get together with them since I left Nara which is 5 ys ago?
I was very comfortable spending relaxing and exciting time with them.

We talked about local topic, people we know, what happen in our elementary school+ junior high school those day. And some current catch ups.

Oh men, I like COMING BACK home. Yes, honestly COMING BACK to visit is the best thing for me!

I thank my husband who was in the room with all of Kansai people and had stayed awake from jet lug. It is so important to me that my people knows him, he knows people here. Because this town will be his home town too!
Yes, I know that I have awesome husband!

Never Happen

I was supposed to lose some weight in Japan dramatically!
But now what?

I am eating good food everyday and eating as usual like in the U.S.

My own goal is not achieved.

I ate Sashimi today(I eat very often) because I can`t escape the temptation from them.

It is only in Japan I can eat good Sushi and Sashimi. And of course raw egg!

It is SO special to me.

And good rice....

Oh men, there is a reason I like being here sometime!

I like them!

I met some of my friends and talked.
Even a little things.
Such a little things.
Just laughing and talkng our favorites.

I am from small town, Nara.

I used to think that is boring place.
I did`t even go to downtown Nara when I lived here.

But now I like going there. It takes just 15mins by train.

Walking down the street and see some new things I have never seen before.

Finding good things about Japan which I didn`t care at all when I lived here.

Spending slow time.
Reminds me nothing because it is still changing.

Yes, it is not bad.

Chance!

I am being a girl! I stayed over night at my precious friend place and had so much fun:

Arrived to her house - She lives with parents. Yes, this is common in Japan. Kids live with parents until they get married!

Had a wonderful meal - She loves cooking and what she cooks is always awesome.

Having chat with beer - Beer is the best thing with Japanese food

Going to bath - We walked for a couple mins to go to bath place, it is called SENTO. Public bath. If I think about this, really strange culture, but I love it!

Chat in futon until either one fall asleep - Futon doesn`t mean American Futon! Sleep on the floor with Futon mattress. I really believe that is good for my back. Sleep side by side.

Wake up with breakfast - Other than my husband, she is the one who reminds me a breakfast cooker in my life. She cooks Japanese breakfast.

Cleaned her room - She loves cooking, I love cooking. This is a good exchange for us.

Going to Church - Tried OIC in Tamatsukuri.

Have a dinner - Nice cute style cafe. Had my favorite "TACO RICE!"

Going back to my parents house by train.

I can`t believe that I have this chance to share my TIME with people I couldn`t do in SF or wherever I was at. Being in Japan feels fresh and also not new.

Only thing I can say is that "My life got more exciting after I left U.S.!" in many ways.

Moving FW. Wherever God provides us where to be.

What people mean

Seeing things differently.

Who is your people?

People thinks that everybody is like you.
When I was 20ys old, I used to think that people think like I do.

Now I think that every poeple think differently.

My view wasn`t wide enough, I had made the world small.

That is even 5 ys ago, I lived in this place. Lived with my people here in small town.
The things I used to think about seems very light and thoughless and ...stupid.

Now I see from different view.
Like my father follows politics which I didn`t care at all when I lived in Japan. But now we watch politics TV together and start discussing.

Some people never change. Hey, but I could never follow!

The Long Way Around by Dixi Chicks

My friends from high school
Married their high school boyfriends
Moved into houses in the same ZIP codes where their parents live
But I, I could never follow
No I, I could never follow

I hit the highway in a pink RVwith stars on the ceiling
Lived like a gypsy
Six strong hands on the steering wheel

I've been a long time gone now
Maybe someday, someday I'm gonna settle down
But I've always found my way somehow
By taking the long way
Taking the long way around
Taking the long way
Taking the long way around

I met the queen of whatever
Drank with the Irish and smoked with the hippies
Moved with the shakers
Wouldn't kiss all the asses that they told me to

No I, I could never follow
No I, I could never follow

It's been two long years now
Since the top of the world came crashing down
And I'm getting' it back on the road now
But I'm taking the long way
Taking the long way around
I'm taking the long way
Taking the long way around
The longThe long way around

Well, I fought with a stranger and I met myselfI opened my mouth and I heard myself
It can get pretty lonely when you show yourse lf Guess I could have made it easier on myself

But I, I could never follow
No I, I could never follow

Well, I never seem to do it like anybody else
Maybe someday, someday I'm gonna settle down
If you ever want to find me
I can still be found
Taking the long way
Taking the long way around
Taking the long way
Taking the long way around

Dinner

I cooked dinner for parents tonight. Since I have been cooking only for my husband a while, I was worried if they like it or not. I don`t know what they like very much.

All the materials I used for cooking in the U.S. is pretty much Japanese especially in SF, but Of course style is not real Japanese. We use bread for dinner a lot. I had nice rice cooker but we cooked rice maybe once a week or so.

My goal in Japan this time is RIGHT SIZING. Womans in Japan is skinny. Looks like it doesn`t matter if you are healthy or not. Skinny is the best. hmm.... Tough to be here, huh?

Internet

Having good Internet connection is a KEY!
Wireless is not working here for some reason. And I am very frustrated!

I tried to call YAHOO BB . Bur couldn`t reach them because YAHOO is SOFTBANK now. It is silly I can`t find the number of the Internet company and can`t fix this problem on the day.

Internet structures my life!

I hate having wire to my PC.

Wondering

I wonder if I like a life in Japan.

I was at a department store with my mom yesterday. And was on the floor where has middle age clothing. And the guy came to me and said "This jacket is so good, would you like to try on?" etc... And I was listening to what he was saying. And he said "You are wearing nice and young clothes" . I don`t know what that means but maybe he thought I am in the middle age? Yes I am 20s!

Japanese woman wears same thing for the entire age group. They wear really nice clothes, but I wonder if they are wearing what they want, or what they KNOW.

You can`t avoid seeing price tugs which is more than $200 USD worth in the entire store there. And people are buying it. Japanese society makes buying expensive stuff difinately more than US. But they don`t seem like they have a good foundation of smart financial knowledge. Comfortable society allows people to have this life style. It is kinda strange for me to see now. Having a job and paying a rent. Have a normal car and have a Hermes bag and LV wallet. And not eating out very much....etc... I was far away to see this life for a while. Even though I left Japan just 2 years ago, To me, lots of things Don`t make any sense now.

Need to blend in to this society now. I see things from out side but I am still in inside. I speak Japanese and have Japanese passport. I didn`t live like Americans in America because there is almost nothing is American especially in SF. People do what they want, and I did what I want/need. Could be selfish, but could not be selfless.
I like a city. I really like it. Someday or soon, I will love to live in HK again. That will be my goal, my husband and I.
